Well this certainly wasn’t on my Pride month bingo card…
The Permabanning of controversial Battle Royale streamer Dr Disrespect has been on of the most perplexing mysteries in the streaming community.
It all started on June 26th 2020. The Doc was streaming like normal, chatting to his followers when he appears to receive a notification on his phone, presumably from a Twitch admin. He then says “I kinda wanted to get off but now I don’t want to get off“
He then changes the subject and begins talking about David Icke of all people. David Icke is a Far right conspiracy theorist who’s faced criticism for his Anti-Semitic views and his conspiracy theories regarding Covid-19 and 5G networking.
He’s also believed to be a holocaust denier due to his endorsement of “The protocols of the Elders of Zion“ A fabricated Anti-Semitic document that was published in Russia in 1903 (Because of course it’s Russia’s fault).
It’s quite bizarre that Dr Disrespect would promote someone like that but considering he showed solidarity to Known stochastic Terrorist Nickmercs, It’s not surprising that the doc would also be a fan of posting false information about marginalised communities. This isn’t even the reason he got banned, it gets worse.
Not long after this, it appears like someone in the room with him tell him to stop streaming to which he panicked and end’s the stream.
For the longest time, Nobody knew for sure why the Doc was banned. Many people suspected he was banned for bringing his camera crew into the Bathroom’s with him at Twitch Con. This wasn’t the real reason he was banned but his ban did involve Twitch Con and Sexual Misconduct.
Dr Disrespect at Twitch Con
Yesterday on twitter, Cody Conner’s, Former Director of Strategic partnerships for Twitch.TV alleged that Dr Disrespect was banned for Sexting a minor through Twitch’s Whisper function, a feature that allowed users on twitch to communicate privately that has since been removed.
He planned to meet this Minor at that years Twitch Con. At the time of writing we don’t know if he ended up meeting them or if anything intimate happened between the two of them, until we get more clarification we have to assume the worst.
It’s very hypocritical that Dr Disrespect would choose to engage in sexual conduct with a minor. After all, he was one of the far-right extremists calling Trans people pedophiles because of Nickmercs getting his Bundle removed from Modern Warfare II.
So according to Dr Disrespect, Changing you gender identity because you feel you were born into the wrong body makes you a nonce but dating a minor (Who’s probably Cishet) dosen’t.
I guess “Leave the Kids Alone“ dosen’t apply if it means you get something out of it.
Update: Midnight Society, The Game Company Dr Disrespect founded and the developers of upcoming extraction shooter DEADROP, Put out a statement regarding the allegation stating the they have terminated their relationship.
They wrote on twitter yesterday:
“On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founder’s Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect.
We assumed his innocence and began speaking with parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act.
For this reason, we are terminating our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately. ”
This decision seems to give more credibility to the accusations that were made by Cody Conner’s earlier this week.
